He has made this conclusion on the basis of the study of cells in the samples of nasal swabs of corona victims. These samples were taken in the early stages of corona infection. In many of these victims, the infection later became severe.

According to the study published in the journal Cell, the antiviral response in the cells of victims who had severe corona infection was found to be very high. Whereas compared to these, less antiviral response was seen in sufferers with mild infection. Harvard researcher Jose Ardovas-Montanes said, 'Our results suggest that the body's initial antiviral response can predict the risk of corona becoming serious.
