Upcoming EVs: 4 new electric cars will enter the Indian market, from Mahindra XUV.e8 to Creta EV

The Mahindra XUV.e8 is expected to be launched in December 2024. We expect the XUV.e8 to go on sale in the first half of next year, i.e. 2025. The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be launched in early or mid-2025. Like the concept, it could be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack that could offer a range of over 550 km.

Due to the ever-increasing demand for petrol and diesel and pollution, the demand for Electric Cars has increased in India. Due to this, many new models will come in the Electric SUV segment in the next 12 to 18 months. We have brought you a list of upcoming products from carmakers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra and Kia.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

Mahindra is expected to launch the XUV 3XO EV by the end of this year and will be positioned below the XUV 400 to compete with the Tata Punch EV. It will have many similarities with the XUV 400, including the battery pack. It is expected to provide a low range of around 350-400 km on a single charge.

Maruti Suzuki eVX

The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be introduced in early or mid-2025. Like the concept, it can be fitted with a 60 kWh battery pack, which can give a range of more than 550 km. A Toyota sibling model will also be launched in the second half of 2025 and both will be based on derivatives of Toyota's 27 PL platform.

Hyundai Creta EV

The Hyundai Creta EV, which has been spotted testing several times, will hit showrooms early next year and is likely to have the electric motor from the base-spec Kona Electric that has been discontinued in the Indian market for now. Its design will be largely inspired by the ICE Creta. It is expected to have a range of over 450 km.

Mahindra XUV.e8

The Mahindra XUV.e8 is likely to be launched in December 2024. We estimate that the XUV.e8 will go on sale in the first half of next year i.e. 2025. Based on the XUV 700 ICE, this electric SUV will be almost equal to the concept in terms of design. Its interior will also get a 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital instrument console with Level 2 Adas.
