IIT Kharagpur’s Shaurya 8.0: Reckoning of the Seas

The stage is set for Shaurya 8.0, the annual sports festival of IIT Kharagpur, scheduled to take place from October 9 to 11, 2026. This year, Shaurya takes on the theme “RECKONING OF THE SEAS,” bringing together the energy of sport with the spirit of a voyage—where every challenge tests determination, every contest demands teamwork, and every athlete strives to go beyond their limits.

Over the years, Shaurya has grown into a prominent intercollegiate sports festival, providing athletes with a platform to compete at a high level and showcase their talent and sporting spirit. More than just a competition, it celebrates the values that define sport—discipline, perseverance, teamwork, resilience, and the determination to succeed.

Under the banner of “RECKONING OF THE SEAS,” Shaurya 8.0 is expected to bring together over 2,000 participants from colleges across India, including contingents from 23 IITs. Athletes from different institutions will come together at IIT Kharagpur, united by their passion for sport and their desire to compete at their best.

The festival will feature a wide range of sporting events, including team sports, individual competitions, racket sports, and other disciplines. From intense team battles to closely fought individual contests, every event will challenge athletes to remain focused, adapt to pressure, and give their best.
