Sonam Wangchuk Rushed to Safdarjung Hospital on Day 21 of Fast; CJP Chief Abhijeet Dipke Takes Over Indefinite Strike

Amid a major medical emergency, well-known social activist Sonam Wangchuk was forcefully evacuated by Delhi Police from his protest site at Jantar Mantar today and moved to Safdarjung Hospital. Wangchuk's health had taken a critical turn on the 21st day of his hunger strike, which he launched alongside students protesting against the recent NEET examination controversy.

Medical professionals monitoring his health warned of imminent organ failure due to prolonged fasting. Acting on the directives of the Delhi High Court and pressing medical advice, authorities intervened to hospitalize him. According to hospital sources, while Wangchuk remains severely weak, his vitals are currently being stabilized under close observation.

CJP Steps In: Hunger Strike Escalates

The government intervention at the protest site quickly triggered a sharp response from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Immediately following Wangchuk’s removal, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announced that he would sit on an indefinite hunger strike to carry the movement forward.

Dipke accused the local administration of heavy-handedness, claiming that peaceful demonstrators were manhandled and briefly detained by the police during the evacuation process.

'Chalo Sansad' March to Proceed as Scheduled

Despite the crackdown and Wangchuk’s sudden hospitalization, the core committee of the protest has made it clear that the agitation will not lose momentum. CJP leadership reaffirmed that their planned "Chalo Sansad" (March to Parliament) on July 20 will go ahead exactly as scheduled.

Security has been heavily intensified around Jantar Mantar and central Delhi to prevent any law and order situations as student groups and political leaders continue to condemn the police action.
