JioHotstar is down, users are facing streaming and search issues
The JioHotstar OTT app is experiencing multiple issues, with thousands of users reporting problems streaming videos. This issue has been reported nationwide and has affected a large user base.

Many users across the country complained on social media on Tuesday afternoon that the JioHotstar platform was suddenly down. According to reports, attempts to stream movies, TV shows, and live events on the app resulted in notifications like "Network Error" and "Unable to connect to JioHotstar." This outage not only resulted in content being inaccessible, but also resulted in the disappearance of several features, such as the search bar and "Continue Watching" section.
Users Angry on Social Media
Many users expressed their displeasure on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit. Some wrote that the app's homepage was opening, but clicking on content displayed a "network issue." Others reported receiving a "login failure" message.
Websites like Downdetector also received thousands of reports since Tuesday afternoon, confirming that the issue was not limited to a select few users but was a nationwide outage.
JioHotstar issued a statement
An official statement from the OTT platform JioHotstar stated, "We are experiencing a technical issue. Our technical team is working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. We apologize to all our users for the inconvenience." However, the company has not yet disclosed the cause of the issue or when it will be fixed.
Tech experts believe this could be due to server overload or a backend glitch. User traffic on streaming platforms increases during the festive season, making server load and connection issues common. Some users have also speculated that this could be due to a bug in the latest app update or a network CDN distribution failure.
