TIPS Dwarka Celebrates Kala Utsav, Showcasing Student Talent

New Delhi, March 12: Trinity Institute of Professional Studies, Dwarka, celebrated Kala Utsav, an event commemorating the birth anniversary of its founder, Late Shri O.P. Tandon.. The event was organized by the Institute's Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with NSS cell keeping in mind the initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, launched in 2015, to promote arts in education, by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of students in the country.
The event began with the lighting of lamp followed by a floral tribute to the founder, Shri OP Tandon on his birth anniversary. Prof. (Dr.) Mandeep Kang, Director of DSW, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the event. Dr. R.K Tandon, Chairman, Trinity Institute of Professional Studies, Dwarka welcomed the chief guest of the event followed by his welcome address. Addressing the students, Dr. Tandon said that it’s a great pride to be a part of Kala Utsav as it is not just an event but a platform to showcase the art and culture. In a world where everyone is chasing deadlines, art is the only escape. He further added that education is not just about academics but for the holistic development in which co-curricular activities play an important role. He congratulated the participants for their active participations and winners for their exemplary performance.
Addressing the students, Chief guest Prof. (Dr.) Mandeep Kang said that Co-curricular activities plays an important role in building confidence of the students. She further added that students should actively participate in events to showcase their talent and build confidence.
A total of 9 events including Social Innovation Pitch, Research for change, Sustainable Poster Making, Social Welfare Debate, The Strategy Case Challenge, Chalchitra: Capturing the Moment, Quiz-o-Mania, Gaming Tournament and Cultural Showcase. The event also witnessed a spectacular Phoolon ki Holi by ISCKON where students enjoyed the essence of the festival with Harinaam Kirtan.
The winners of various event were awarded in the valedictory session. Ishan from BPIT won the first prize in Udbhav, Parul from Echelon Institute of Technology won the first prize in Vichar Vimarsh, Kalpana from TIPS, Dwarka won the first prize in Green Canvas, Bhoomika from TIPS, Dwarka won the first prize in Seva Sangram, Nishant from JIMS, Kalkaji won the first prize in Niti Manthan, Nandini from TIPS Dwarka won the first prize in Chalchitra, Kritika and team won the first prize in Quiz, Rudra and team from MSI won the first prize in Gaming and Abhiroop from TIPS, Dwarka won the first prize in Rang de Zindagi.
The event formally concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Agarwal, Director, Trinity Institute of Professional Studies. He congratulated and thanked each participant, member of IIC and NSS cell, faculty members, and student volunteers for making the event a success.
