Patna High Court gave big relief to Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, decision regarding XXX web series
The Patna High Court has given a big relief to film producer and director Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor. The proceedings of the lower court on the case filed against him in the Begusarai court have been stayed. While hearing the matter, notice has been issued to the complainant Shambhu Kumar.
The Patna High Court has stayed the trial court proceedings in a case filed in Begusarai Court against film producer and director Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor for misrepresenting Army officers and tarnishing their image. The single bench of Judge Satyavrat Verma, while hearing the matter, has issued notice to the complainant Shambhu Kumar. The matter is related to the web series Triple X (XXX Session-2 Web Series)
Case registered under section 500 and 504
The complainant had got a case done against Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor in the Begusarai court under sections 500 and 504 of the IPC. It has been alleged that in the Triple X web series aired on the OTT platform a few days ago, army officers were shown wrongly. This has tarnished his image. The magistrate of Begusarai took cognizance under sections 500 and 504 of the IPC and started court proceedings against them.
Quashing petition was filed in Patna High Court
Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor filed a squashing petition in the Patna High Court against the order of cognizance of the trial court. Senior advocate YV Giri and advocate Nikhil Kumar Agrawal presented the side of the petitioners in the court. Giving relief to Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor, the High Court has issued notice to the complainant in the lower court, while staying the case filed against them for the time being. The next hearing on this matter will be on January 11, 2023.
High Court had reprimanded
Let us inform that in the past, the Supreme Court had reprimanded filmmaker and director Ekta Kapoor's web series 'Triple X' (XXX) Season-2 for objectionable content. The court had said that Ekta is corrupting the minds of the younger generation of the country through web series.
