Candidates who host the Oscar gift bag program and get nominations in the premium category get it. Best Director, Actress, Actor, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress are included in the premium category. However, the candidates who get it have the right to refuse to take it. Candidates who get this bag do not have to pay any kind of tax.

A gift bag is given to those who get nominations in the prime category of Oscars. This is not a normal bag. Its price is around 1 crore. It started from 2002. This gift bag contains 60 types of items. It includes beauty products, luxury lifestyle items and a pass for a luxury vacation, as well as a Canadian getaway kit worth $40,000 or about 33 lakhs. Nominated people also get a chance to stay for 8 people in Queensland and Italian Light House in Australia through a luxury vacation pass. 

Up to 50 percent of the products in this gift bag are from companies whose owners are either women or belonging to minority communities. Apart from this, there are many things including skincare products from the giant company Miage, travel pillow from PETA. Gifts from the food company Cliff Thins and Japanese milk bread from the Japanese company are also given.
