Cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder. Parents get to know about the child affected by this only after three to four years. There is no cure for this disease. Therefore, better care is needed for life than treatment. If the disease is recognized on time and medical help is taken, then relief can be given to some extent. Children with cerebral palsy are unable to move like healthy children and their intellectual development is also affected. Apart from this, they also have trouble in turning and getting up. With age, the symptoms of this disease become severe. In some cases, the child may also need to use a wheelchair. Due to this, the mental and physical development of the child does not take place and they are completely dependent on others. Therefore, children suffering from it require extra care.
This disease usually affects the baby during pregnancy. In some cases, babies are affected by it after birth. Its factors include changes in genes, not getting enough oxygen to the brain at birth, fever affecting the brain, abnormal development of the brain, head injury and bleeding etc. If there is talk of some relief in this disease, then only on the basis of the exact symptoms at the age of four to five years, the doctors reach a decision by various tests. There are four types of cerebral palsy on the basis of symptoms, they are spastic, mixed, dyskinetic and ataxic.

In this disease, doctors try to diagnose by doing blood tests, cranial ultrasound, MRI, CT scan. The muscles of some children suffering from this are either very flexible or they are so tight that the patient is completely unable to move the legs and waist. In such a situation, surgeons adopt the option of surgery called Dorsal Rizotomy, which can increase the activity of the legs and waist. That is, relief in this disease can be expected from medicines, surgery, behavior and physiotherapy.
