The aviation ministry has now advised airlines not to charge any extra money for issuance of boarding passes at airport check-in counters.

IndiGo, the country's largest airline, charges an additional fee for passengers asking for a boarding pass at the airport check-in counter.

The ministry tweeted, it has come to the notice of the Ministry of Civil Aviation that airlines are charging additional charges for issuance of boarding passes to passengers. The ministry said that this is not justified under the directions issued in accordance with the provisions of the Aviation Rules, 1937.
