Pakistan: Indian High Commission officials and families ordered to stay in Quarantine, wife of one officer was infected
Pakistan has ordered 12 officials of the Indian High Commission to stay in the quarantine with the family.
Pakistan has asked 12 Indian High Commission officials based in Islamabad to stay in Quarantine with their families and drivers. This order has been given last week after one of these people came from India to get positive. Pakistani Foreign Office has given information about this. Significantly, Pakistan and India are struggling badly with Coronavirus.
Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary said on Sunday, On Saturday (May 22), a group of 12 officers and their family members reached Pakistan via the Wagah border. He said that all 12 people had negative RT-PCR reports of Kovid-19. But they were tested again in terms of the Corona Security Protocol in Pakistan. The spokesman said, during the rapid antigen test conducted by Pakistani health authorities, the wife of an officer was found positive.
Advice to move to Quarantine under NCOC rules
The National Command and Control Center (NCOC), the apex body set up in Pakistan for the pandemic, reviewed the matter and advised all 12 officers, their family members and the driver to go for compulsory quarantine. Chaudhary said that the Indian High Commission has been advised to strictly follow the guidelines provided by the NCOC. The NCOC has the responsibility of framing and implementing regulations related to the Corona epidemic in Pakistan.
More than 20 thousand people died due to corona in Pakistan
The Expert Tribune news quoted diplomatic sources as saying, according to the 'Standard Operating Procedures' (SOPs) agreed between the two countries, if a member of the diplomatic staff or any of their associates was found to be corona infected, they would be treated by their country. Instead of sending it back to India, you have to live in the same country in Quarantine. According to sources, Pakistani authorities have done this work under the law. So far 20,308 people have died due to corona in Pakistan. In the neighboring country, 9,03,599 people have been affected by this virus.
