State broadcaster CCTV reported on Friday, citing data from China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, that in 2019, before Corona, tourism was 60.7 percent. Domestic tourism revenue in China declined by 26.2% this year from 287.2 billion yuan.
Strict corona restrictions even in famous city of China
Xishuangbanna, the most famous destination city located in Yunnan province in the southwest of China, has also been badly affected due to Corona. After 12 new cases of Omicron came here on Thursday, a strict lockdown has been implemented and tourists have also been completely banned from coming here.
