Nearly six months after the Russo-Ukraine war, the Ukrainian city of Izium has been freed from Russian military occupation. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hoisted his country's flag and sang the national anthem in Egypt on Wednesday. In the face of the courage of Ukrainian soldiers, the Russian army left Izium last week and Ukraine again took control of the city.

Zelensky told reporters, 'This scene is very shocking, but it is not shocking to me. Because we started seeing the same pictures from Bucha, which were from earlier de-occupied areas, same buildings destroyed, people killed.' Bucha is a small town on the outskirts of Kyiv, from where Russian troops withdrew in March. Subsequently, Ukrainian authorities discovered the bodies of hundreds of civilians dumped in streets, yards and mass graves.

Prosecutors said they found six bodies in villages in the Kharkiv region recently withdrawn from Russian troops. The head of the Kharkiv prosecutor's office, Alexander Filchakov, said the bodies were found in Harkov and Zalizniche, in the villages of about 60 kilometers southeast of Kharkiv city. Prosecutors said, 'We have seen many terrible pictures. What did the occupiers do? He said that we are preparing a list of places where Ukrainian citizens have accused Russian soldiers of atrocities.
