During a meeting of the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice, Grace Lee, chief of the Safety Group, said the clinical presentation of myocarditis cases following vaccination has been remarkable. According to him, such cases have come up after a week of taking the first and second doses of the vaccine. The complaint of chest pain has been very common in this. He also said that CDC officials are working to collect more data, Xinhua reported. They are also trying to understand how much risk is there with it and how it can be corrected during its long-term.
According to the cases reported in the US so far, 267 cases of myocarditis and pericarditis have been reported after a single dose of Moderna Vaccine, while 827 such cases have been reported after the second dose. According to the CDC, 132 such cases are also being looked at, in which information about how many doses of vaccine has been given so far has not been revealed. Most of these cases have come in men. Although they are of very low standard.
