Tikait said - no compromise below release

Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait, who reached among the farmers on Monday, said that there will be no compromise below the implementation of MSP on sunflower and other crops and the release of arrested farmer leaders including Gurnam Chadhuni. Late in the evening, the farmers gave time till 10 o'clock to the administration and when the demand was not met, they put a night halt on the road.

Officers' meeting inconclusive

Farmers were seen listening to Ragini late at night, dancing on the tractor playing DJ and eating langar. During the rally, three meetings of district administration officials with the committee were held, but it remained inconclusive. The committee stuck to its stand. After this the farmers set out to jam the GT Road.

Sensing the mood of the farmers, the police stood on the side and allowed them to go towards GT Road. Wrestler Bajrang Punia, who reached the rally, also supported the farmers' movement on behalf of the wrestlers. A large number of farmers from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand had reached the rally including several khaps.

Lathi charge on farmers

Let us tell you that after giving an ultimatum to the government to implement MSP on sunflower, Bhakiyu (Chadhuni) had called a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Shahbad on June 6. GT Road was jammed in Shahabad. After this, the police lathi-charged the farmers citing the order of the High Court to vacate the GT Road, got the GT Road vacated.

A case was registered against many leaders including Gurnam Chadhuni and arrested. Since then he is in jail. Even after this the movement did not weaken and the farmers once again blocked the GT Road.

Preparation for Haryana Bandh on 14th June

On this, farmer leader Ramesh Dalal says that now preparations are being made for the Haryana bandh regarding their demands. Food items will also not go to Delhi during the Haryana bandh. They say that if our demands are not met then everything from road to rail will be closed.

While targeting the Manohar government, he said that the state government did not increase any proposed price in the last 9 years. Also said that for the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the bandh of June 14 has to be made successful.
