Sikh Family Murder: Charges framed against a person accused of killing a Sikh family in California

Charges have been framed against the accused who killed a Sikh family in California. The accused has also been charged with illegally possessing a firearm and committing arson. The family was originally from Punjab.

Four members of a Sikh family were brutally murdered in the US state of California. The charges against the murder accused Jesus Manuel Salgado were framed on Monday. Four members of the Sikh family, Jasdeep Singh (36), Jasleen Kaur (27), their eight-month-old daughter Aarohi Dheri and 39-year-old Amandeep Singh, were abducted earlier. Later, the bodies of the four were found lying next to each other in an orchard in Merced County. The family was originally from the state of Punjab, India. 

Salgado also accused of gun and arson

Salgado is also charged with illegally possessing a firearm and arson for allegedly setting the truck on fire. According to KCRA, a television station in Sacramento, California, the Merced County District Attorney's office said Salgado would remain in prison without the possibility of parole. 

Attempted suicide

The suspect is said to have attempted suicide before being taken into custody. He has been admitted to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. The suspect was taken into custody on October 6. He previously worked in the family trunk company. He was fired from his job by the family on suspicion of theft.

Salgado has been to jail before as well

According to records from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Salgado had previously been in prison for nearly a decade. Salgado has already been convicted of armed robbery and witness intimidation, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. 

11 years in prison in 2007

Salgado was sentenced to 11 years in 2007. A month later he was sentenced to eight months. He served eight years in prison, while on parole from 2015 to 2018.
