Two more Indian-origin ministers have got a place in the government of the Canadian province of Ontario. Prior to the reshuffle, there was only one Sikh minister in the government, Prabhmeet Sakaria. Now 47-year-old Param Gill and Neena Tangri have also been made ministers.

Param Gill hails from Moga in Punjab, he moved to Canada in his youth. He has got the Department of Citizenship and Multiculturalism.
Nina Tangri has been appointed as Assistant Minister, Department of Small Industries and Red Tape Reduction. Neena's family is originally from Bilga near Jalandhar. Minister Prabhmeet Sakaria has been promoted before this reshuffle. Giving him a cabinet rank, he has been made the chairman of the Treasury Board. He is the first Sikh minister of Ontario. This reshuffle in the government has been done a year before the elections. There are elections here in June next year.
