Atique Ahmed: Police convoy carrying Atique Ahmed towards Chitrakoot, Reaches Prayagraj From Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Jail

Atiq was kept in Naini Jail premises for security reasons. After getting the life sentence, Atiq also requested the court to send him to Sabarmati Jail. At the same time, the police say that the Supreme Court had ordered to keep Atiq in Sabarmati Jail, so he is now being sent back. 

Prayagraj. The convoy of UP Police has left at 8.35 pm on Tuesday evening regarding Mafia Atiq Ahmed. He is being taken back from Naini Jail to Sabarmati Jail. A 24-member police team is included in this convoy. Atik's health checkup has been done and the doctor has given him some medicines.

Earlier in the day, in the Umesh Pal kidnapping case, Mafia Atiq Ahmed, his close associate Shaukat Hanif, Dinesh Pasi were sentenced to life imprisonment by District Court MP MLA Special Judge Dr. Dinesh Chandra Shukla. The special court had convicted him under section 364A of the IPC. The special court has acquitted all the other accused in the case. Atiq's brother Ashraf has been sent to Bareilly and Hanif to Chitrakoot Jail. 

Here, Water Power Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, who reached Varanasi, said that action will be taken against such goon mafias in the Yogi government. No goon mafia is going to survive in the Yogi regime, action will be taken against all the culprits. Former DGP and BJP MP Brij Lal has welcomed this decision. He said that today there is an atmosphere of celebration in Prayagraj. Union Minister SP Baghel said that the rights and duties of the judiciary are clear, welcome this decision.

The matter was heard in the MP-MLA court on Tuesday. During that time tight security was arranged in the court room and outside it. Atiq and his brother Ashraf were brought from Naini Central Jail under high security. Keeping the security in mind, both were brought to the court in separate prison vans.

Tight security arrangements were made for the production of Atiq and his brother. Police force was deployed everywhere. The court was converted into a cantonment. While talking to the media, Umesh Pal's wife said that Atiq Ahmed should be hanged from the court.

Atiq Ahmed was brought from Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat to Prayagraj for the hearing of the kidnapping case. While his brother Ashraf was brought to Prayagraj from Bareilly Central Jail. Both the brothers were kept in the high security barracks of Naini Jail.

It is alleged that in the year 2006, on February 28, in the case of murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, witness Umesh Pal was abducted by former Congressman Atiq Ahmed, his brother former MLA Khalid Azim alias Ashraf along with their accomplices and taken to his office.

Umesh Pal had registered a case against five people including Atiq Ahmed. The main accused in this case, former MP Atiq Ahmed, his brother former MLA Khalid Azim and Farhan are lodged in jail. While Dinesh Pasi, Khan Soulat Hanif, Javed alias Bajju, Abid, Israr, Aashiq alias Malli and Ejaz Akhtar are out on bail
