China's 20th CPC meeting: Foreign interference in Taiwan is not tolerated, Xi Jinping warns in National Congress

The Communist Party of China (CPC) will once again hand over the command of the country to Xi Jinping. Party members have gathered for the 20th session of the CPC. This Congress will run from October 16 to October 22.

Xi Jinping addresses party members during the opening of the Communist Party Congress. Xi Jinping said, 'China has fought the biggest and longest war against poverty in human history. Our efforts to reduce poverty all over the world are significant. He warned that foreign interference in Taiwan would not be tolerated.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China has also waged a great struggle against Taiwan separatism and is determined and capable of opposing territorial integrity. 

The session of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) begins today. In this, President Xi Jinping is almost certain to be elected for a third term. With this appointment of Jinping, the old norm of appointment of top leaders for a maximum of 10 years will end. This convention will last for a week. In this, 2,296 elected representatives will participate in the secret meeting under the guidelines of Jinping. 

He said delegates would attend the 20th CCP National Congress, which would represent more than 96 million CPC members and more than 4.9 million primary-level party organization. 

China's most important political event of 2022, and indeed in the coming five years, will be the meeting of the 20th National Congress of the ruling CCP and its 90 million members on 16 October. 

China's stance soft on Taiwan

Before the convention, there have been signs of some softening in China's stance on Taiwan. Party spokesman Sun Yeli said in a press conference that we want the unification of Taiwan in a peaceful manner and power will be used as a last resort. This will augur well for China's long-term stability and development. Barring Jinping, all top leaders, including the number two leader, Premier Li Keqiang, will face a massive reshuffle in the coming days. In this change, outgoing Foreign Minister Wang Yi will be replaced by someone else. The convention will run from October 16 to 22.

anti-Jinping slogans are being raised at some places through loudspeakers ahead of the convention. The anti-covid plan is also being criticized. In view of this, security arrangements have been tightened in Beijing. The movement of people has been banned in some areas of the city. 

People's outrage over rising unemployment

There is anger among the people regarding the rising unemployment in the country. Observers say that the crackdown on officials in the last 10 years has led to growing discontent in the party. These include lakhs of officers including punished top officers of the army. From the very first day of taking power in 2012, Xi Jinping started a campaign against corruption.
