El Salvador Femicide Case: A former police officer was arrested this month in the murder of two women in El Salvador. Now 14 bodies have been found at the house of this former officer. Salvador's prosecutors have informed about this on Thursday. Officials said the case has revealed the presence of a large circle of murders, possibly going on for nearly a decade, and there is speculation in the local media that the officer has killed around 20 people.
Former officer Hugo Osorio Chavez was detained and charged earlier this month in the murder of a 57-year-old woman and her 26-year-old daughter (Femicides in Latin America). Earlier, 51-year-old Osoria Chavez, facing an investigation into sexual offenses, confessed to killing both. After the arrest of the officer, a search was started for his house in East Chalachoapa Nagar.
Dead bodies found in eight pits
Prosecutors said that 14 bodies buried in eight pits have been found in his house in this search. These bodies are probably buried about two years ago (El Salvador Murder Case). The number of dead bodies being recovered from the house has increased by four more in the last week. In the case, Mauritio Ariza Kyacas, director of the National Civil Police of El Salvador, said on Wednesday that the suspects included former police officers, besides soldiers and smugglers, who resorted to greed to trap victims.
Crowds of people outside the house
After receiving more bodies from the former officer's house on Thursday, many people feel that the bodies of their missing relatives may also be included in them (Crimes in El Salvador). They were seen standing outside the house of the accused, where a heavy police force is also stationed. El Salvador is a country where cases related to crime are widely heard. Last year, 70 cases related to murders were registered here. According to police figures, 111 women were killed here in 2019. There is a lot of violence against women in Latin American countries. There has been an increase in such cases during the time of corona virus epidemic.
