France Riots: More than 800 arrests so far, arson and firing did not stop even on the fourth day

In France, for the fourth consecutive day, unrest and riot-like conditions persist. Tension has spread across the French Caribbean as locals protested the death of a teenager in a police shooting in a Paris suburb on Tuesday.

Police who opened fire arrested

Paris and its suburbs were hit by a new wave of violence following the death of a 17-year-old teen on Thursday, with looting, arson and shootings. The deceased teenager has been identified as Naal. In fact, it was stopped for violating traffic rules in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris. And the officer who is accused of firing was taken to jail.

Policemen died in firing

The worst violence to date took place in French Guiana. Several police officers came under fire here and a 54-year-old government employee was shot dead in the capital Cayenne on Thursday night. Thick black smoke billowed in some areas of Cayenne, obscuring roads as police tried to quell protesters in the tiny South American region. The officials urged peace from the miscreants as preparations were on to incite riots once again in the area.

Frequent arrests

Officials said on Friday that the 54-year-old government employee who died in the firing worked in the government's mosquito control office. He was standing in his balcony, when suddenly he was shot and died. On Friday, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said 270 more people had been arrested, 80 of them in Marseille.

Announces mobilization of 45,000 police and gender personnel

The interior minister announced an extraordinary mobilization of 45,000 police and gendarme personnel to avert riots for the fourth consecutive night. Amidst the burning rubble, a wall in Nanterre was spray-painted with 'Vengeance pour Nel', meaning 'Revenge for Nel', in reference to the slain teen, the report said.

Arson in many places

A bank was set on fire in Nanterre and police detained 15 people for questioning after a march in memory of the teenager turned violent. Protesters throw burning firecrackers at police officers in Marseille. The regional authority said in a Facebook post that police detained six people for questioning after they took part in a protest stopped by authorities in Lille.
