Increase in fire in more districts

Meteorology Bureau official Miriam Bradbury has given a statement regarding this "Temperatures will peak in Victoria on Sunday. Bradbury told the Australian Broadcasting Corp, "Fire hazards mean that we are seeing an increase in fire in more districts."

Meteorologists said on their website that heat wave warnings were also issued on Sunday in the states of Western Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania.

Bradbury said a cool change is expected in the southeast of the country on Sunday night with a change in wind. Australia's past few fire seasons have been quieter than the "Black Summer" of devastating forest fires of 2019-2020, which destroyed an area the size of Turkey, killing 33 million people and billions of animals.
