There has been news of a boat sinking off the coast of Florida due to Cyclone Ian. It is being told that this boat belonged to Cuban migrants, about 20 people are said to be missing in the accident. The US Coast Guard has started a search for those missing in the accident. 

Coast Guard begins search for missing people

The Coast Guard had launched a search operation for 23 missing people, according to news agency Reuters. They have safely rescued three people, who have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment. At the same time, Chief Patrol Officer Walter Schlosser said that four Cuban migrants had swam to shore after the boat sank due to the cyclone. He too has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. 

Flood situation due to cyclone

One of the most powerful hurricanes ever to hit the US, Ian, flooded southwest Florida on Wednesday. The situation is that roads and buildings have been flooded, power supply has been disrupted in more than one million houses in the area. At the same time, people have been imprisoned in their homes due to waterlogging. According to the information given by the Coastal Sheriff, he is getting a large number of calls from people trapped in their homes. 

Ian turns into a Class 4 cyclone

Cyclone Ian has now intensified into a Class 4 cyclone, with winds of 241 kmph. On Wednesday, the storm hit the coast of Florida at the same speed. Due to which the entire area is facing power crisis, as well as a large number of people are imprisoned in their homes. Earlier, the hurricane had wreaked havoc in Cuba, in which two people died. At the same time, the country's electricity grid was completely destroyed. About 2.5 million people were ordered to evacuate to southwest Florida before the storm struck. But according to the law no one can be forced to leave the area.
