A big accident happened in China today. A gas pipe exploded in Shiyan City of Hubei province of China on Sunday morning. At least 11 people were killed and 37 seriously injured in a massive gas explosion in central China's Hubei province on Sunday. Many people have been buried under the debris after this accident. According to official media, several houses were damaged, the blast took place at around 6.30 am in a local community area of Jhangwan district. According to China's state-run channel CGTN-TV, pictures and video footage aired on Internet media platform Weibo showed several houses to the ground and massive debris being cleared.
The Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post reported that the explosion occurred at the Yanhu market in Xi'an when several residents were having breakfast or buying vegetables at the market. The city's municipal office had initially said that several people were trapped under the debris after the incident. The reason behind the incident is also not known. An inquiry has been started for this. Local media say that relief and rescue operations have been started.
