Pakistan's Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday warned Imran Khan that he would be arrested if he dared to start anti-government protests again. Speaking to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers at a party convention in Multan, Punjab province, Sanaullah targeted the former prime minister, according to Dawn newspaper.
Days after Khan instructed his workers and supporters to prepare for a 'Jail Bharo Tehreek' (Fill the Jail movement) against the federal government for torturing his party's leaders in custody and delaying the announcement of new general elections Minister's warning has come.
Khan made the announcement after his party's senior vice-president Fawad Chaudhary and former member of the National Assembly Shandana Gulzar were booked for sedition.
Sanaullah blames Imran for 'creating trouble'
On Sunday, Sanaullah blamed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for 'creating trouble'. The minister warned that the federal government was prepared to arrest Khan if he dared to launch a protest.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, former minister Farooq Habib said PTI workers and leaders were waiting for Khan's call to launch protests against the federal government.
