Demanding free and fair elections in Pakistan, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he is not afraid of going to jail and will forcibly hold elections in the country if the government fails to conduct free and fair elections in the country. Pakistan's local media outlet The News International reported that the former PM, while addressing his party's Insaaf Students Federation and Youth, on Saturday targeted the ruling government led by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and reiterated his demand for free and fair elections.
People ready to protest
Imran Khan while addressing at the Jinnah Stadium said, "If they do not conduct free and fair elections then people are ready to take to the streets to protest peacefully or else we will conduct elections forcibly." He further said that we can see that he is running from the election because he knows that his performance will be worse than before. The youth will be sorely needed. I am ready to sacrifice my life for the real freedom of the country. Jail is a small matter if the country gets true freedom.
Free and transparent elections are the solution to the problems
Former PM Imran Khan said that the government of Pakistan is trying to stop him from contesting elections by using the minus-one formula. He said that the imported government cannot compete with him in the elections. That is why the government wants to disqualify him technically. He said that many cases including terrorism have been registered against me. Disqualification is not the only solution. The problems can be solved only by free and transparent elections in the country.
