Plane crash: plane crashed in Colombia's second largest city Medellin
A small plane crashed in a residential area of Medellin, Colombia's second largest city. International media has given the news quoting the Mayor.
According to an official, the accident was caused by a fire, in which no one survived. The Aeronautica Civil Aviation Authority said that the wreckage of the crashed plane was found near Villavicencio.
In this plane crash, the owner of the plane, pilot, co-pilot along with a mayor and his family members also died. President Ivan Duque paid tribute to those who killed in the plane crash on Twitter. "We stand with the families of those who killed," he said.
Speaking to a news channel, director Colonel George Martinez attributed the accident to engine failure. He said "the plane was flying over the municipality of San Martín when one of the plane's engines stopped and it went out of control.
