The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a newly launched cruiser bike by the Indian multinational motorcycle company Royal Enfield. The Classic 350, on the other hand, doesn't need any introduction as it is among the bestselling Royal Enfield bikes in India.

This new cruiser bike and the already-existing Classic 350 share the J-series platform alongside the 350cc engine. The J series platform translates to the twin downtube spine frame. However, there are a few differences, including the rake angle. In addition, the Hunter 350 has a lower trail, measuring 96.4 mm, compared to the Classic's 111.7 mm. Moreover, unlike the Classic's 19-inch alloys, the Hunter has a downsized alloy wheel of 17 inches.

Let's start with the debutant, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Its length measures 2055mm, its width is 800mm, its height is 1055mm, and it sits on a wheelbase of 1370mm. The Hunter 350 is shorter (length) than the Classic's 2145mm, broader than the Classic's 785mm, and smaller (height) than the Classic's 1090mm. Furthermore, the Hunter has a smaller wheelbase than the Classic's at 1390mm and has less ground clearance at 150mm than the Classic's at 170mm. For reference, a longer wheelbase on the bike results in improved stability but less manoeuvrability. A shorter wheelbase, on the other hand, does the opposite. 

The saddle height of the Hunter is 790mm, making it relatively shorter than the Classic's 805mm.

Different dimensions also result in different weights. There is a difference in total weight between these two cruiser bikes. The Classic 350 is heavier at 375kg than Hunter's 360kg. 


Classic 350 vs Hunter 350: Specifications

As mentioned earlier, these two bikes have identical engines. The Classic 350 boasts a 346cc air-and-oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 19.1bhp at 5250rpm and 28Nm at 4000rpm. On the contrary, the Hunter 350 has a relatively better engine displacement of 349cc and comes with the same cooling system as the Classic. However, the newcomer has a better power delivery of 20.2bhp at 6100rpm and 27Nm of torque at 4000rpm.

The Classic 350 has a wet multi-plate clutch, while the Hunter has a conventional wet-clutch. 

Moreover, these two bikes have the same fuel tank capacity of 13 litres.

The main bit is the fuel efficiency. As per sources where owners have given their reports on the Classic 350 and the Hunter 350 mileage, they are more or less the same, i.e., 38kmpl and 37kmpl, respectively.


As far as the braking setup is concerned, both bikes boast the same configuration. The front brake diameter is 300mm, while the rear is 153mm. It has a single-channel ABS like the Classic 350. It is also worth mentioning that the Classic 350 has a dual-channel ABS option as well.

As for the suspension setup, the front of the Hunter 350 bike consists of a telescopic fork, while the rear end has a twin-tube emulsion shock absorber with a six-step adjustable preload. The Classic 350, on the other hand, also has the same setup as the Hunter 350, but the rear has a five-step adjustable preload, and the rest are all the same. 


Classic 350 vs Hunter 350: Features

Starting with the newest arrival, the Hunter 350 offers a semi-digital instrument cluster, a standing alarm, and two trip meters that are digitally displayed. Moreover, it also has a low-oil indicator, electric start, a USB-charging port, and a digital fuel gauge, unlike the Classic 350. 

Furthermore, the Hunter 350 also features a shift light and a clock that the Classic 350 lacks.  


Classic 350 vs Hunter 350: Prices and Variants

As for the variants, the Classic 350 has six of them available, with three colour options. The Hunter 350, on the other hand, has three variants, alongside two colour options.

The debutant's colour options include Factory Black and Factory Silver. Whereas, the Classic 350 can be had in Black (KS), Bullet Silver, and Onyx Black. 

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 price starts at Rs 1.50 lakh for the base model, the Retro, and it goes up to Rs 1.66 lakh for the top-of-the-line, the Metro Rebel. 

On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 has a starting price of Rs 1.90 lakh for the base model, the Redditch Series with Single-Channel ABS, and it goes up to Rs 2.21 lakh for the top model, the Chrome Series with dual-channel ABS.
