Security forces targeted
As per the report, January was extremely fatal for the security forces. This is the second highest number of deaths of security personnel in a month after July 2014, in which 118 security personnel died. The data shows that there has been a reduction in the number of civilian casualties and security forces being targeted by terrorist groups. According to The Nation, the deaths of security and government officials have almost doubled compared to the first quarter of last year.
Pakistan's past mistakes are costing the country dearly
Much of the attention surrounding the attacks has centered around the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). However, the numbers show that there are many other organisations, which have started functioning in the last one year.
Pakistan's past mistakes in harboring terrorists and giving them a chance to recover have cost the country dearly. The news report called Pakistan's military leadership right in demanding a collective approach, involving the entire country and Government, to eliminate terrorism.
