Train-flights canceled in New Zealand due to cyclone, power failure of thousands of houses

Life has come to a standstill in Auckland facing frequent cyclones in New Zealand. Train and air services have been stopped. The cyclone left thousands of homes without electricity, forcing people to live in the dark.
It has been advised by the government to avoid traveling without urgent work. On Monday, the cyclone moved from north-east to south and more than 220 mm of rain was recorded north of Auckland. About 58,000 homes lost power and many roads were forced to close.
Authorities have declared a state of emergency in Northland, Auckland and some other areas. Schools including libraries have been closed in the city. Air New Zealand has canceled all domestic flights to and from Auckland until Tuesday. Also many international flights have been diverted.
