UK report raises concern over rising influence of Khalistan supporters in London, urges govt to resolve the issue

An independent report commissioned by former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has expressed concern over the growing influence of pro-Khalistan extremists within the British Sikh community.

The Bloom Review, a commission set up by former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has called on the Rishi Sunak government to urgently address the issue. Along with this, it has also called for protecting the majority of Sikhs in Britain who do not support extremist ideology.

Sikh community is getting threats from Khalistanis

The report has stressed on resolving the issue at the earliest. Khalsa Vox reported that the report said that Sikh communities in the UK have been receiving coercion and intimidation by Khalistani elements. These pro-Khalistan groups increase their influence and attract the attention of political bodies by lobbying them under the guise of human rights.

Emphasis on dealing with Khalistani ideology

As Khalsa Vox reports, it is important to understand that Khalistani separatists do not represent the views of the majority of British Sikh communities.

The Bloom Review highlighted the negative impact of these extremist groups on Sikh communities. The Bloom Review stresses the need for the UK government to take measures to combat this extremism.

Identification of those promoting separatist agenda

The report has identified individuals and organizations promoting a separatist agenda in the UK. The Bloom Review stated that most British Sikhs consider the subversive methods used by pro-Khalistani groups to be at odds with the core tenets of Sikhism. The Bloom Review urges the UK government to ensure that such extremist behaviors are not legalized by the government.

The report stressed the importance of differentiating between Sikh communities and extremist elements in order to ensure the safety and well-being of Sikhs in Britain and to maintain ties with India, Khalsa Vox reported.

Indian High Commission in UK vandalized

The report comes after Khalistani ransacked the Indian High Commission in the UK in March. After the incident, the UK government had assured security.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the issue of security of Indian diplomatic establishments in the United Kingdom in a telephonic conversation with his UK counterpart Rishi Sunak.

PM Modi had called for strict action against anti-India elements.
