Vrindavan News: Big accident in Banke Bihari temple, two devotees died due to crowd pressure in Mangala Aarti.
In the accident caused by the crowd, 2 pilgrims were killed while 6 were said to be injured. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals. It is being told that thousands of devotees had reached the temple premises for the Mangala Aarti to be held once a year at 1.55 in the morning on Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
Due to the pressure of huge crowd during Mangala Aarti to be held at world famous Thakur Banke Bihari temple on Shri Krishna Janmashtami, a major accident took place. In the accident caused by the crowd, 2 devotees died while 6 were reported injured. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals.
It is being told that thousands of devotees reached the temple premises for mangala aarti held once a year at 1.55 am on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Two devotees died as the temple had several times more people than the capacity of the devotees. The deceased have been identified as Nirmala Devi, wife Dev Prakash and Ram Prasad Vishwakarma (65), both residents of Bihar Colony.
A heavy police force including DM, SSP, Municipal Commissioner was present at the time when the accident happened in the temple. Soon after the accident, police and private security personnel started evacuating the fainting devotees from the temple. The devotees who were injured in this accident were sent to Rama Krishna Mission, Braj Health Care and Sau Shaiya Hospital in Vrindavan.
