An Air India flight from Newark, New Jersey to Delhi has been diverted to Stockholm due to a medical emergency. The flight made an emergency landing at Stockholm airport on Wednesday after developing a technical glitch due to oil leaking in one of its engines. There were 300 passengers on board the flight. However all the passengers are safe.
Had to make emergency landing due to oil leak
A senior DGCA official said that there was an oil leak in one of the engines of the Boeing 777-300ER flight. Due to which emergency landing had to be done. The engine was shut down following an oil leak and the aircraft later landed safely in Stockholm, the official said.
A senior DGCA official said that during the investigation, it was found that oil was seen oozing from the drain mast of engine two of the flight. All passengers on board the aircraft are safe.
An airline official said the flight from Newark in the US was diverted to Stockholm in Sweden due to a technical glitch. However, all the passengers on board the aircraft are safe.
According to reports, a large number of fire engines were deployed at the airport during the emergency landing of the flight.
Flight from New York to Delhi had an emergency landing
On Monday, an Air India flight going from New York to Delhi was diverted to London due to a medical emergency an Air India official said that the flight from New York to New Delhi was diverted to London due to an in-flight medical emergency.
The official said that our ground staff at Heathrow have been alerted and preparations have been made to take the person concerned to hospital.
