America's lunar mission has suffered a major setback. The US space agency NASA said on Saturday that the launch of Artemis had to be postponed once again due to bad weather. Earlier, the launch of Artemis has been postponed twice due to technical snag.
Artemis launch postponed due to storm
Artemis was to be launched on September 27 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in the first phase of a manned lunar mission. Through this, NASA was going to send rockets and capsules to the Moon. But Tropical Hurricane Ian is expected to hit Florida next week. Coming closer to the coast of this storm, which originated in the Atlantic Ocean, it is also being feared to turn into a cyclone. Due to this, NASA had to postpone the launch of Artemis.
Artemis launch has been postponed twice before
As part of its lunar mission, the US was to launch the Artemis rocket first on August 29. All the preparations for the launch were completed, but then the launch had to be postponed due to a fault in the temperature sensor of the rocket's engine, cracks in the insulation foam and leakage of fuel. After this it was to be launched on 23 September, but due to some technical flaw, it could not be launched on that day also.
