Britain: Liz Truss sworn in as Prime Minister in the presence of Queen Elizabeth

Liz Truss (UK New PM Liz Truss) has been elected as the Prime Minister of Britain. Britain's Queen Elizabeth II formally appointed Liz Truss as the Prime Minister of Britain. Voter turnout was 82.6 percent in the election. Rishi Sunak got 60,399 votes while Liz Truss got 81,326 votes. 172,437 members of the Conservative Party were eligible to vote, while 654 votes were rejected. Her margin of victory also reflects divisions within the party. In this way, Truss got 57.4 percent and Sunak got 42.6 percent of the votes. In recent times, leaders have won leadership positions by a greater margin than the truss.
