PLA's exercise continues on six areas
China has been irritated since the visit of US diplomat Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. China began a siege of Taiwan as soon as Nancy Pelosi's plane landed in Taipei. In this regard, China has claimed that it has started exercises related to warplanes, naval ships and missile strikes in six areas around Taiwan. China claims they are located 20 kilometers (12 mi) off the coast of the island. In fact, China's presence so close to the island of Taiwan is a violation of Taiwan's territorial waters.
At the same time, Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that the fate of Taiwan cannot remain unstable indefinitely. Meanwhile, US military officials have said that China may take military action against Taiwan in the next few years.
