Taiwan is facing a big problem these days. The tremors of the earthquake, which occurred twice in two days, have shook the land of Taiwan. The magnitude of a strong earthquake in the southeast of Taiwan on Sunday was measured at 6.8 on the Richter scale. At the same time, the earthquake of 6.4 magnitude came on Saturday evening. The Taiwan Meteorological Department said the epicenter of the quake was in Taitung County.

Terrible earthquake

Several houses were damaged in the earthquake in southeast Taiwan, and the Meteorological Department has issued a tsunami warning. The island's weather bureau said the quake caused train carriages to derail, causing a store to collapse and hundreds of people stranded on mountain roads. However, Taiwan Railways said that about 20 passengers on the train have been safely evacuated.

Many houses damaged by earthquake

This earthquake has damaged many houses. U.S. Geological Survey said that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km. At the same time, according to local media, several buildings collapsed, under which many people are buried and efforts are being made to rescue them. The rescue team is engaged in full swing.

Taiwan's fire department gave information

Taiwan's fire department said all four people were rescued from a store building in Yuli, while three people whose vehicle fell off a damaged bridge were also rescued and taken to hospital.

Tsunami warning

The earthquake had not yet lifted over Taiwan that the US Tsunami Warning Center has issued a warning in Taiwan. He said a tsunami could occur within 300 km of the quake's epicenter along the Taiwan coast. Japan's Meteorological Agency has issued a 1-metre tsunami warning for part of Okinawa Prefecture after the quake.
