There is a long waiting time in trains. In such a situation, for the convenience of the people, Indian Railways is now going to run 211 festive special trains. People can easily get tickets in these trains.
If you have not been able to book a ticket to go home yet, then you can book a confirmed ticket in the festive special trains. Railways has decided to run a total of 2561 trips of 211 special trains till Chhath Puja. Here we are going to tell you how to book Tatkal tickets with complete details of these trains.
Special trains being run for these cities
Railways has planned special trains to connect major places across the country through rail routes like Darbhanga, Azamgarh, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Ferozepur, Patna, Katihar and Amritsar. Railways have also made preparations to control the crowd by making people stand in a queue at Terminus stations under the supervision of RPF staff to ensure orderly entry of passengers in unreserved coaches.
More RPF personnel have been deployed at major stations to ensure the safety of passengers. Officers on emergency duty are deployed at major stations to ensure smooth running of trains. Staff have been deployed in various sections to respond to any disruption in train service at the earliest.

Here's the complete list of Festive Special Trains
According to the Ministry of Railways, a total of 132 trips of 10 special trains of Central Railway have been scheduled on Diwali and Chhath.
Similarly, 176 rounds of 10 special trains of East Central Railway, 94 trips of 6 special trains of East Coast Railway, 108 rounds of 14 special trains of Eastern Railway, 367 trips of 44 special trains of Northern Railway, 9 specials of North Central Railway 227 rounds of trains, 44 of 3 special trains of North Eastern Railway64 rounds of 4 special trains of Northern Frontier Railway,
257 trips of 7 special trains of NWR, 56 trips of 11 special trains of Southern Railway, 12 trips of 4 special trains of South Eastern Railway, 35 special trains of South Central Railway of 271 rounds, 23 special trains of South-Western Railway386 trips, 26 trips of 7 special trains of West Central Railway and 331 trips of 24 special trains of Western Railway have been scheduled.
Tatkal ticket option on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath
Actually, on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath, people book tickets from railways to go towards their homes. However, as the festival day approaches, it becomes difficult to get a confirmed ticket. In such a situation, the ticket is either available in waiting or it is available in RAC. However, on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath, there is also an option of Tatkal ticket, from which a confirmed ticket can be obtained.
Tatkal ticket booking timings
Through Tatkal ticket booking system, passengers can book tickets from the originating station, one day before the departure time of the train. Tatkal booking for AC coach starts at 10.00 AM. Wherein Tatkal booking for Non AC coaches starts from 11 AM onwards.
• Register at irctc.co.in.
• Login after registering.
• Click on Plan My Journey.
After this, choose the date of journey by selecting from where to go and the station to which you want to go.
• Select Ticket as E-Ticket.
• After that click on submit button.
• Train List will appear in front of you.
• After that select Quota as Tatkal.
Now choose the train by which you want to travel, here you will see the details along with the ticket availability.
• Click on Book Now to book tickets.
• Tatkal e-tickets can be booked for a maximum of four passengers per PNR.
• The ticket reservation page will appear.
• Enter passengers name, age, gender and berth preference for each passenger.
• Concession is not allowed for senior citizens in Tatkal quota.
• After charting click on Consider for Auto Upgradation for Automatic Class Upgradation.
• Enter the verification code.
• Please enter the Mobile-Number.
• Click on Next Button.
• After this the payment page will come.
• Pay and get your e-ticket.
• Special arrangements for the safety of passengers
Additional RPF personnel have been deployed at major stations to ensure the safety of passengers. Officers on emergency duty have been deployed at major stations to ensure smooth running of trains. Staff have been deployed in different sections on priority basis to avoid any disruption of train service.
Measures have been taken to announce the arrival/departure of trains having platform number frequently and in time. Instructions have been given to maintain cleanliness in waiting rooms, rest rooms, platforms in particular and stations in general.
