Mass grave found in Congo, 49 dead bodies included children and women; Militia group responsible for the attack
UN peacekeepers have found a mass grave in Congo. In which 49 dead bodies including children and women are present. 42 bodies were found in Nyamba village in Ituri province while 7 bodies were found in Matogi village, some 30 km from the provincial capital Bania.
A mass grave containing 49 bodies was found on Thursday in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In which the dead bodies of children, women and other people were buried. The United Nations reported that an ethnic militia group was responsible for these killings.
The UN peacekeeping mission of MONUSCO said via the social media platform Twitter that the bodies of seven people were found in the village of Mbogi, located about 30 km from the provincial capital Bania.

According to reports, 42 bodies including 6 children and 12 women were found buried in Nyamba village of Ituri province. While 7 bodies were recovered from Matogi village, 30 km east of Bania. The brutal and cowardly killings have been attributed to the ethnic militia group CODECO.
The UN peacekeeping mission MONUSCO condemned the "cowardly" killings, saying peacekeepers began patrolling the area after learning of the attacks. Codeco is one of dozens of militia groups operating in eastern Congo. The CODECO community working in remote areas is divided into different groups. In such a situation, there has been no response from his side regarding this attack.
About 195 people die
The UN mission reported that at least 195 people die and 84 abducted in attacks by CODECO and a rival militia group called Zaire since December. Due to which the number of displaced people is increasing in Ituri province and the number has increased to 1.5 million. Although the Congolese government has not given any immediate response in this matter.
