Not only Nasrullah, Iranian commander also died in Israeli attack; America had imposed sanctions
Israel-Hezbollah War Another big information has come to light regarding the Israeli attack targeting Hezbollah chief Hasam Nasrullah, according to which a top Iranian commander was also present with Nasrullah at the time of the attack. Iran has confirmed the death of 58-year-old Abbas Nilforushan in the attack. The US also imposed sanctions on him in 2022.
A top Iranian commander was also killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting Hassan Nasrullah. Iran confirmed this on Saturday. News agency AP quoted Iran's state agency as saying that a major general of its paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, banned by the US, was also killed in the attack targeting Nasrullah in Beirut.
Iran's state news agency IRNA reported that 58-year-old Abbas Nilforushan was killed in Lebanon on Friday. The US Treasury identified Nilforushan as the deputy commander for operations in the Guard.
The US had imposed sanctions
The US also imposed sanctions on him in 2022 and said that he led an organization that was directly responsible for the protest suppression. The US said that the commander played a key role in arresting protest leaders during previous protests.
The restrictions come amid months of protests over the death of Mahsa Amini, who was reportedly arrested for not wearing her head covering, or hijab, as permitted by police.
