There has been a big breach in the data of social media platform Facebook users. Hackers have stolen the data of about 53 crore Facebook users. This includes personal details of Facebook users such as email IDs, phone numbers. Alon Gal, co-founder of Israeli cybercrime intelligence firm Hudson Rock, said on Saturday that Facebook linked telephone number data has been circulating in hackers' circles since January this year. This data was first spotted by Tech Publication Motherboard. Some data from Facebook users is being sold for a few euros. It is being sold on the familiar site of hackers.
Facebook users advised to be careful
According to the motherboard story, earlier this year Facebook said that the data leak was caused by a bug, which was fixed by Facebook in August 2019. But Gal quoted the news agency Reuters as saying that Facebook users should beware of social engineering attacks, which have acquired private data and phones of Facebook users. In such a situation, Facebook users should be careful. This type of attack can become a big concern for users.
Data of about 106 users of Facebook users was stolen
According to Business Insider's report, data from about 106 Facebook users in the country has been stolen. This included Facebook users' phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, locations, dates of birth, and email addresses. In December 2019, a security investigator from Ukraine said that 26 million 70 million Facebook user information is available on the Internet. But it is not yet known whether the data that Business Insider has made available is related to the data found in December 2019.
