Snow storm wreaks havoc in America, declaration of emergency in western New York; many people dies

A blizzard killed several people in northern New York on Saturday morning. Due to this storm, a thick sheet of snow up to about six feet froze on the roads of many areas. The Buffalo metro area was particularly affected by the snowstorm. In some areas south of the city, more than 5 feet of snow fell in the early hours of Saturday. Up to six feet of snow accumulated near the Fort Drum Army base, about 80 miles northeast of the city, according to the National Weather Service. 

Match shifted due to snowfall

Sunday's National Football League game between the Cleveland Browns has been moved to Detroit because of a snow storm. National Weather Service meteorologist Zack Taylor told the Associated Press that we expect another round of snow storms to hit much of western New York this evening and early next week. He said some areas near Lake Erie could get up to two feet of snow.

Many people died during snow removal

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz tweeted that two people were killed while clearing snow in the Buffalo area, while a third person, a snowplow driver, was killed clearing roads in the Indiana city. He died. Heavy snowfall occurred in some areas of Buffalo near Lake Erie, while several miles away received just a few inches of snow. 

State of emergency imposed in Western New York

New York Governor Cathy Hochul declared a state of emergency on Thursday for parts of western New York, including Lake Erie and the eastern end of Lake Ontario. During this time all types of vehicles have been banned in the area.
