Could not shoot down the drone

Significantly, this incident has once again raised questions on South Korea's air safety. Drones from the neighboring country hovered over South Korea's capital Seoul along with other major cities for nearly five hours. The South Korean army fired about 100 rounds but failed to shoot down any drone.

'More preparation and training needed'

President Yoon Suk Yeol told a cabinet meeting that the incident reflected a lack of preparedness and training of the military over the past several years. This makes it clear that the army needs more preparation and training. He blamed the old governments for this. Yoon said that we are planning to set up a drone unit so that we can keep an eye on the major military bases of North Korea. Along with this, he also talked about increasing the capability of monitoring the country with new age stealth drones.

Army apologize

The army has apologized for not killing the drone. It has been said by the army that we could not attack the drones with much aggression in view of the civil security because the size of the drones was very small. Along with this, the army also demanded to increase the country's anti-drone capability. Kang Shin-chul, a senior officer of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that we regret that we failed to shoot down enemy drones keeping in mind the safety of civilians.
