Britain's newly-appointed Prime Minister Liz Truss said on Tuesday that she was honored to take responsibility for the country at a critical time. In her first speech as prime minister, Truss, 47, promised to make people's lives easier by controlling rising inflation, saying she would make Britain an aspirational nation. 

Will tackle the energy crisis in a practical way

Truss said he has a bold plan to prop up the economy through tax cuts and reforms. She promised that she would "practically" deal with the energy crisis caused by the Ukraine war waged by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Earlier, Conservative Party leader Truss met 96-year-old Queen Elizabeth II at her Balmoral Castle residence in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and the Queen formally appointed her as Britain's new prime minister. 

Truss became the third woman Prime Minister of the country

Truss is the 15th Prime Minister of the country during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The first prime minister during his reign was Winston Churchill in 1952. Truss has become the third woman Prime Minister of the country. She is the fourth Prime Minister of the Conservative Party in six years. Earlier, Prime Minister Boris Johnson submitted his resignation to the Queen. Truss on Monday defeated former finance minister Rishi Sunak in the race for the post of UK prime minister. 

Inflation is a big issue

Inflation spread in Britain is such an issue on which if Liz overcomes then she will be able to prove herself as a better PM. At present, the rate of inflation has crossed 10 percent. In June, this rate was 9.4 percent. According to government data, after three countries, the rate of inflation in the country is visible at its peak. It was feared to go up to 11 percent in January itself, at that time it was less than 7 percent. The problems for the countrymen have increased due to lack of employment and spurt in inflation.
