18,314 people were included in this research. Some of them were smokers, some were non-smokers. Some people were workers. They were given 25,000 IU of vitamin A along with 30 mg of beta-carotene daily for four consecutive years. This research showed that the risk of cancer increased by 30 percent in people who smoked.
