What is Google Local Guides Program?

The Google Local Guides program is a way for Google to crowdsource local data to help users find more information and details about a particular location. It's a community built around the world using people like you and me who use Google Maps and volunteer their time to add reviews and other information about places they've recently visited.

It includes details like fact-check, some relevant questions, photos, reviews. Google Maps also allows users to add and edit location information if they find something wrong about a particular location. For this, Google rewards them with some points and after the user earns a certain number of points, they are promoted to Local Guide levels.

How does the Google Local Guides program work?

Its process is quite simple. Once you visit the location, Google Maps will prompt users to provide feedback in the form of a star rating first and then a detailed form will appear where users will have the option to provide additional information such as photos, videos, timings, etc. Will happen. Google also asks them some questions about the location.

By doing this, users get some points and these points will help them to go to higher levels in Google Maps. Once a certain level is reached, Google rewards users with a badge and special rewards such as discount vouchers, early access to Google features.
