Actor Mithun Chakraborty said on Monday that if he can get the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, then other artists who work hard can also get it. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in a post on 'X' that Mithun Chakraborty has been nominated for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Mithun said that he dedicates this honor (Dada Saheb Phalke Award) to his family, countless well-wishers and fans. In response to the question of how he sees his journey from his home in North Kolkata to here, he said that I want to tell everyone that if I can reach here, why can't you? He said that you (aspiring actors) should have a sense of dedication. You have to be ready to face difficult situations. I can be an example of this.

When asked about the wishes given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mithun said that I thank him for this. I am grateful to him and everyone who wished me. When asked about his tenure as a Rajya Sabha member of Trinamool Congress, he said that my tenure has ended long ago. I am no longer an MP. I am an actor who also does social work for the people.

Mithun spoke on Kolkata rape case

On his association with BJP and whether it had any role in getting this honour, Mithun said that I am associated with BJP, but I have worked in the film industry for a long time and I have got the love of the people. When asked about the incident of rape and murder of a female doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, he said that like everyone else, I too was shaken by this incident. We all just want that the person who committed this barbaric crime should be found and punished. If this is delayed or does not happen, then the safety of women will never be ensured.
