However, petrol and diesel rates have come down in Kolkata, so far people are getting the benefit. Prior to this, petrol diesel was getting expensive for 12 consecutive days from 9 February. Diesel had crossed Rs 80 per liter in Delhi last week, now it has crossed Rs 81 as well. The most expensive diesel in Delhi was sold in the last week of July last year, when the price was Rs 81.94 per liter and petrol rate was Rs 80.43 per liter. That means expensive diesel was sold from petrol at that time.

On Tuesday, the rate of petrol in Delhi increased by 35 paise to Rs 90.93 per liter, which is a new record. Petrol has reached Rs 97.34 per liter in Mumbai as well, petrol was cheaper by 66 paise in Kolkata on Tuesday and it is reduced from Rs 91.78 to Rs 91.12 per liter. Petrol price in Chennai is Rs 92.90 per liter for the last three days. Petrol rate in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan is the highest in the country at Rs 101.59 per liter, while diesel is being sold at Rs 93.61 per liter.

Petrol and diesel increased price in 2021
