'We Regret': The Defense Ministry of Ukraine Apologises After Goddess Kali Tweet Triggers Row

A few days ago, an objectionable picture of Goddess Kali was shared from the official Twitter handle of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which was tweeted by the Defense Ministry of the country as a 'work of art'.

But after a sharp reaction from India, this tweet has now been deleted.

On Tuesday, Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhepar apologized know what she said :-

People in India are calling it derogatory and 'Hinduphobia'. Kanchan Gupta, advisor to India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said that this is an attack on Hindu sentiments across the world.

Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Emin Dzhepar had recently come on a visit to India. This was the first visit by any minister of that country after the war started in Ukraine last year.

Citing this, Kanchan Gupta gave her response in a tweet and said that recently the Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine had come to Delhi to seek India's support. "Behind that forgery is hidden the real face of the Ukrainian government. Indian goddess Maa Kali depicted on a propaganda poster, an attack on Hindu sentiments across the world."

Did it happen by mistake?

Ukraine is anti-India, this also cannot be said with a claim. The thinking in India's Ministry of External Affairs is that this mistake could be due to ignorance about Hindu culture. Ukraine deleted the tweet and apologised, that's enough for the Indian government

Kali is a Hindu goddess associated with Shakti, destruction and the cycle of creation and destruction. There may be a lack of understanding or knowledge about his role in Hindu mythology, especially outside India. Due to less knowledge about Hindu culture, many such cases have come to the fore which are kept in the category of insult.

In recent months, there have been attacks on Hindu temples in some western countries including Australia, which have been condemned by the Government of India.

But on the other hand, many Hindu organizations have expressed concern over the incidents of deliberate attack on Hindus and their culture.

They say that the incidents of anti-Hindu "Hinduphobia" are increasing

Perhaps that's why last month, Georgia became the first US state to condemn "anti-Hindu bigotry" in its resolution, which claims that with more than 1.2 billion people of the religion in more than 100 countries, Hinduism is a religion of diverse traditions and The bastion of belief systems.
