Electric car company Tesla Inc. has been accused by the California state transportation regulator of falsely advertising its Autopilot and fully auto driving features as autonomous driving controls. The complaints filed with the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) said Tesla misled potential customers with advertising by showing how well the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) works.

The DMV said in the complaints, Tesla has "disseminated false and misleading statements and are not based on any facts." The DMV also said that cars equipped with Autopilot and fully auto driving technology were not there at the time of those ads and could no longer be used as autonomous vehicles. And now questions are being raised on this.
License may be canceled
The DMV is currently exploring measures to suspend Tesla's license to sell vehicles in California. In addition, it may also include issues such as having the company restore drivers.

Tesla said that Autopilot enables your car to automatically steer, accelerate and brake inside its lane, while full-self driving enables vehicles to obey traffic signals and change lanes.
Autopilot mode has already come under the scanner
